OUR COMMITMENTS
OUR POTATOES
Our potatoes come from the potato-friendly soils of Cambridgeshire, and are chipped fresh in store everyday. Throughout the seasons, we will require a different variety of potatoes. We work closely with our supplier WM Fraser to select the best potatoes to deliver the perfect chip, achieving that perfect crispy golden skin and pillow like fluff texture in the centre.
OUR FISH
All of our fish is sourced from sustainable supplies in the North Sea and is delivered fresh daily from Peterhead Fish Market. We work closely with our supplier King Foods to ensure that the fish we receive is the best quality. The boats we buy from adhere to the strict quotas set, this ensures that there is no overfishing so there is time for the fish stocks to replenish, so future generations can enjoy the same great fish and chips
OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY
Our Local community is important to us. They are the backbone of our business so we ensure we back them whenever we can. We do this by supporting the RNLI and Fishermans mission, we also work closely with the local secondary school Mackie Academy and Sponsor the RW Thomson Car Rally.
OUR OIL
We use RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil, which is top quality and fully traceable. We have oil management systems in place to ensure that our oil is topped up little and often to reduce wastage. Any oil that we do dispose of is collected by our supplier and taken away to be recycled and turned into biofuel.
OUR ENVIRONMENT
We take care in looking after the environment. We train all staff in methods to reduce waste and the correct methods of recycling products in the bins provided. We are aware of the impact our business has on the environment, and we are continuously looking at ways to reduce the amount of natural resources that we consume.
We strive to use environmentally friendly packaging, all of our boxes are made from a sustainable plant based, biodegradable material and all of our cutlery is wooden.
We cook all food to order to help minimise food waste. Any food waste that we do have is collected by Keenan and recycled into compost.
